Israel has been a consistent thread throughout the tapestry of National House of Prayer’s history. Many significant events in our history have coincided with events in the Jewish calendar. Notably, Rob Parker was part of an event in 1999 where various leaders from the body of Christ in Canada repented to Jewish survivors of the MS St. Louis, the Jewish refugee ship refused by Canada.
At the beginning of 2023, the Lord spoke to Chris and Marilyn about Israel becoming more prominent in the ministry’s focus and messaging. In the following months, a call went out to intercessors around the globe to fast and pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the people of Israel in the month of May. Millions responded and it captured our attention.
The Lord began connecting Chris and Marilyn with various leaders who minister to the Jewish people. In these conversations, the Lord was making it clearer and clearer that Israel was to be one of our pillars of focus moving forward.
Then, on October 7, Hamas launched its surprise attack on Israel, murdering over 1,100 Israeli civilians and kidnapping 240 more. Israel had suddenly been thrust to the forefront.
NHOP recognizes that God has not cast off the people of Israel, nor has He broken His covenant with them (Romans 11:1, 29; Psalm 105:8-11). We also recognize that God blesses those who bless Israel, and curses those who despise her (Genesis 12:3).
God’s plans for the church in Canada are somehow linked to His plans for the Jewish people (Romans 11:25-26). For this reason, we are committed to growing in our understanding of the One New Man (Ephesians 2:11-22) and calling the praying church in Canada to stand for Israel.
If you are able, please donate today in support of our Canopy of Prayer over Canada. God bless you for your faithfulness.
